John McEnroe and Serena Williams Dedicate Refurbished Brooklyn Court
September 14, 2011 By Tennis Panorama NewsBROOKLYN, New York - On Tuesday Serena Williams and John McEnroe dedicated a refurbished tennis court at Brooklyn's Decatur Playground. NIKE, SCO Family of Services, NYC Department of Youth and Community and NYC Parks and Recreation Department all collaborated on this project. The new court is created from "Nike Grind," which consists of recycled Nike shoes.
Youths from various local organizations including the Brooklyn Brownstone School, PS 141, MS 35 and the New York Junior Tennis League (NYJTL) were in attendance.
